Module 1- The Human Condition

The Human Condition Module addresses the following question that emerged from the Question Bridge: Black Males art project: “What do all Black men have in common?” Students reflect on the responses collected in the art project and develop a framework for what “human commonality” really means, (both within and between identity groups); identifying socialization processes; and critically thinking about healthy and unhealthy pressures to conform to social norms.

They gain skills in creating environments of inclusion by recognizing the complexity of identity, respecting the unique contributions of the individuals within a community, and finding points of unity.
